SucculentCaudiciform - Burgundian Spinefern

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 61 feet (18.6 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is burgundy, and is covered in brittle dark brown spines. The very thick, subtle red trunk can grow to as much as 61 feet (18.6 meters) in diameter. Its orange branches are short stubs.

The tattered-edged, thick leaves are found in pink, light grey and pink varieties. They are robust, but detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 44 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with alternating petals of violet and hazel, with a sky blue central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of 12 raised, narrow petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like garlic.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the cream flesh is rubbery, and the black sap is thin.
