Indigo Spire

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This large leaf succulent grows up to 84 feet (25.6 meters) tall. The thick stem is yellow-green, and is covered in many fine, red, hair-like spines. The smooth-edged, finger-like leaves are solid indigo or lilac, with azure edges. Very large amounts of them grow from the base in tight-packed layers. The leaves are rigid, and detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 5 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with each petal a slightly different shade of lime grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 34 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like vanilla.

The leaf succulent's skin is delicate, the yellow flesh is soft, and the cyan sap is thin.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
