Vinepine

This enormous tree grows up to 131 meters (429.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 138 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a flexible, straight trunk covered in fine, rough, brown and grey bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black with white speckles.

The small handful of branches are very short, thin and wispy and are covered with thick bunches of sticky, large, spear shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid purple or turquoise, with blue zig-zags.

In late summer it forms large, slate berries.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
