This yellow moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps On trees, and In rainforests.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is very light; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.

The sap is lime.
Several parts of the flower have medicinal properties.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
