Twistvine Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 51 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, slanted trunk covered in smooth, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is pale brown.

The excessive amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of small, wispy leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are found in green and white varieties.

In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, grey blossoms with fan-like petals. They are hardy and have a soft scent that smells like musk.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, cuboid fruit. The hairy slate skin is stretchy and edible when boiled; it is salty, and the soft white flesh is sweet and spicy and very dry. The light brown seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It blooms only at night.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
