Vinefruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 21 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, angular trunk covered in thin, rough, burgundy bark, and inside, the dense wood is light brown.
The small handful of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, very thin leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in light grey, purple and amber varieties.
In early spring, it produces many giant, light grey blossoms with needle-like petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like rotten egg.
In early winter it produces tiny, finger-like fruit. The hairy bronze skin is tough and inedible, and the very soft white flesh is bitter and salty and very juicy. The white seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.
