Silverbloom Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 72 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in thick, silky, gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is silver.

The numerous branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small amounts of giant, perforated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid light brown with pale yellow edges.

In early spring, it produces many balls of giant, cream blossoms with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a scent that varies in strength that smells like lavender.

In late summer it produces small, asymmetrical fruit. The soft blue skin is thin and inedible, and the soft lilac flesh is savoury and powdery. The silver seeds are small and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
