Manfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 60 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, curved trunk covered in very thick, ridged, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with handfuls of miniature, very thin leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are either gold, or lilac with olive patches.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, peach blossoms with 4 pointed petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like a man.

In early winter it produces very large, oblong fruit. The clammy blue skin is thick and edible when roasted; it is sweet, and the soft lilac flesh is extremely bitter and syrupy. The olive seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
