Copper Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This giant cactus grows up to 126 feet (38.4 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 6 stiff, pointed stems. Each stem is emerald, and is covered in handfuls of rigid copper spines. The round body is pink-red, and is covered in thick sheets of fine, white, hair-like spines.

It is quick growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid cream petals and a blue central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of 7 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has a strong scent that smells like fruity.

The cactus's skin is thin, the red flesh is sticky, and the dark brown sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.

The sap is edible and overwhelmingly spicy.
