This moss green moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In rainforests, In rainy mountain ranges, and In marshes.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is slightly flimsy; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores.

It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
