Purpletail Grass
Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)This small, green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The stiff, pointed stalks grow in large clumps that are strong and they spread and grow quickly.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, purple tail.
During the early winter, it produces very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of giant grains.
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
The grains are bitter, but very healthy and can be used to make numerous baked goods.
