Golden Willow

This average-sized tree grows up to 10 meters (32.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 63 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, straight trunk covered in thick, waxy, dark brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is yellow-brown.

The small handful of branches are very short and thin and are covered with thick bunches of leathery, tiny, wide leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are light brown at the bottom and gold with peach streaks at the top.

In late summer it forms tiny, brown seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
