Emerald Heath Moss
Moss type: MossThis gray-green moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In heathlands, On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is extremely durable.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release thousands of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
