Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 134 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many long and flexible, straight stems covered in paper-thin, smooth, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is white.

The branches are very long and slender with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of huge, needle-like, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either bronze, or lilac with sky blue streaks, delicate and fuzzy.

It produces handfuls of small, drab yellow flowers with oval-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like a newborn baby. In late summer it forms giantlight grey seed pods.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
