Knobblebark Tree

This average-sized tree grows up to 29 meters (95.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 152 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, dark gray bark, and inside, the light wood is white with black speckles.

The small handful of branches are very long and thick and are covered with handfuls of rough, large, needle-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in lilac and peach varieties.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, crimson blossoms with oblong petals. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like mango.

In late summer it forms giant, intense red aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
