Blood Thornsucculent

This large caudiciform grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is silver or hazel, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid lime spines. The twisting, blood red trunk can grow to as much as 9 feet (2.7 meters) in diameter at the bottom. Its cream and grey branches are tall, rigid and upright and start growing a quarter of the way up the stem.

The small amounts of tattered-edged, wispy leaves are found in magenta and magenta varieties. They are sturdy and flexible, and do not detach easily.

It is fast growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid pink petals decorated with azure lines and a indigo central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of dozens of tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten egg.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the bronze flesh is rough, and the light grey sap is thin.
