Speckled Willow Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Sheds its leaves in winter)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 59 meters (193.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 406 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, angular trunk covered in fine, waxy, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is black with white speckles.

The excessive amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of waxy, tiny, long, narrow leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in copper, green and green varieties.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, florescent purple blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like faeces.

In late summer it forms giant, beige, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
