Eternal Silverpine

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in very thick, cracked, silver bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is yellow.

The small handful of branches trail down to the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with large amounts of miniature, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are soft and flexible.

In late summer it produces small, florescent red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
