Sorbetto Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 82 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is light brown.

The excessive amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of giant, needle-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in light green, pink and slate varieties.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of small, black blossoms with perforated petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like a woman.

In late summer it produces , triangular fruit. The smooth magenta skin is thick and sour, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is bitter and juicy. The orange seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
