Waterberry Tree

This large fruit tree grows up to 30 feet (9.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 65 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in very thick, wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with very large amounts of large, very thin leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are peach on the edges and dark red at the center.

In early spring, it produces many large, green blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like warm milk.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, needle-like fruit. The rough crimson skin is tough and inedible, and the very soft crimson flesh is sour and sticky. The pastel red seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
