Sunburst Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The thick stem is yellow, and is covered in sharp spines. The wedge-shaped body is moss green, and is covered in sharp spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid crimson petals decorated with lilac lines and a pink central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is made up of 56 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. It has a delicate scent that smells like pine needles.

The cactus's skin is thick, the lilac flesh is waxy, and the hazel sap is thin.
