Spine Splitter Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This modest-sized cactus grows up to 67 feet (20.4 meters) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 6 wide stems. Each stem is orange, and is covered in handfuls of flexible dark yellow spines. The spherical body is yellow-green, and is covered in hundreds of rigid green spines.
It is steady-growing, taking 23 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are generally light grey; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 40 curved petals. It has a soft scent that smells like grass cuttings.
The cactus's skin is thin, the amber flesh is slimy, and the vibrant blue sap is thin and causes upset stomachs if consumed.
