Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 58 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, angular trunk covered in waxy, yellow bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black with white speckles.
The small clumps of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of huge, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either violet or black, with bold purple edges.
In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, magenta blossoms with slender, pointed petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like bleach.
In early autumn it produces , slender, 6 pointed fruit. The smooth lilac skin is thin and sweet and salty, and the crunchy grey flesh is salty and sour and oily. The beige seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
