Blossomfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The small handful of branches are very long and thin and are covered with copious amounts of tiny, thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either grey, or peach with bronze patches.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of large, lime blossoms with spiral shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like honeysuckle.

In early winter it produces large, slender, 6 pointed fruit. The fuzzy cream skin is delicate and edible when roasted; it is sour, and the slightly crunchy peach flesh is sweet and oily. The hazel seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
