Burgundy Clinger

This large tree grows up to 87 meters (285.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 315 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in thin, waxy, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white.

The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of smooth, miniature, spear shaped leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of gray that gradient shifts to azure at the top.

In early spring, it produces lots of giant, drab orange blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have an overpowering scent that smells like a damp log.

In late summer it forms small, bronze, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
