Coniferous Clinger

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 64 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in ridged, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is pale yellow.

The tangled mess of branches are short and thick and are covered with handfuls of tiny, pleated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in gold, green and purple varieties.

In early spring, it produces a handful of medium-sized, amber blossoms with broad, flat petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like pepper.

In mid-autumn it produces small, prism-shaped fruit. The smooth azure skin is peel-able and inedible, and the soft sky blue flesh is sweet and oily. The silver seeds are small and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
