Spineleaf

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The narrow stem is yellow, and is covered in thick sheets of fine, black, hair-like spines. The ripped-edged, fan-like leaves are solid white or brown, with orange patches. Thick bunches of them grow from the base like a cabbage. The leaves are rigid, and take some effort to detach.

It is very fast growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are blood red at the sides and light grey at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is made up of 9 petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight bowl. It has a weak scent that smells like rainy days.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the purple flesh is rough, and the brilliant yellow sap is thin.

The grains are bitter, but very healthy and are suitable for boiling.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
