Coffee Cube

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. Its moss green stem is thin and straight, and the giant, emerald leaves are finger-like with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

3 to 6 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 49 cm (19.3 inches) wide, with dark brown petals and a light grey central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of many raised, round-tipped petals. They detach easily.

It has a powerful scent that smells like coffee, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by the wind.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
