Golden Oasis
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its grey or azure stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 6 and are wispy and straight, and split into several branching stems at the top, and the large, gold and bronze leaves are fan-like with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Many tiny flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 17 cm (6.7 inches) wide, with solid caramel petals decorated with blood red dots and a cream central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 33 tightly layered narrow petals. They detach easily.
It has a weak scent that smells like soap, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
