Serpentine Pine? (Serpentine Pinefruit)

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 42 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale yellow.

The small handful of branches are very short and thick and are covered with small bunches of large, triangular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are copper on the edges and pink at the center.

In early spring, it produces many bunches of small, peach blossoms with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like petrol.

In late summer it produces , pleated fruit. The rough aquamarine skin is thin and inedible, and the very soft azure flesh is sour and very juicy. The black seeds are tiny and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
