Blue Honeysuckle Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 59 feet (18.0 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 6 very thick stems. Each stem is moss green, and is covered in brittle pastel red spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 34 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are generally sky blue; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour, grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 24 petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like honeysuckle.

The cactus's skin is thin, the brilliant yellow flesh is waxy, and the bronze sap is thin.
