Vinebloom

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its copper stem is very thin and splits into 8 branching stems halfway up, and the huge, silver leaves are finger-like with irregular edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Hundreds of medium-sized flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are azure on the underside and washed-out green on the top. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 curved petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like leather, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.


It is suitable for making strong rope
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
