Twistvine Pine
Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a branched, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is brown.
The thin clumps of branches are very long and thin, with hundreds of twigs covered with sparse amounts of huge, green needles. The needles themselves are robust.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, orange seed pods.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
