Twistvine Fruit Tree
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This large fruit tree grows up to 43 feet (13.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 75 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in waxy, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is yellow-brown.
The branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of miniature, very thin leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are generally indigo.
In early spring, it produces many balls of tiny, amber blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have the faintest scent that smells like onion.
In early winter it produces , oval fruit. The fuzzy hazel skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy orange flesh is savoury and powdery. The dark grey seeds are tiny and are bunched at the top of the fruit.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
