Violetleaf Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This huge tree grows up to 126 meters (413.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 625 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in knobbly, brown-green bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy-brown.

The small handful of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, giant, thin leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are green and violet.

In late summer it forms giant, vibrant orange aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
