Lilac Moss

This silver or lilac moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps In heathlands, and In moorlands.
It is large, growing up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely frail; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald triangular capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores.
