Magenta Spineflower

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 69 feet (21.0 meters) tall. The pleated stem is silver, and is covered in many fine, red, hair-like spines. The bubbly leaves are purple and magenta. Sparse amounts of them grow on very thick, florescent green or indigo branches that are long and thick. The leaves are delicate, and easily come away when pulled.

It is very fast growing, taking 2 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally gold; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 12 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like cigarette smoke.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the pink flesh is rough, and the lime sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
