Violettail Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This short, red grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The asymmetrical stalks grow in sparse patches that are resistant and they are slow to spread and grow.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, violet tail.

During the mid-autumn, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of medium-sized grains.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
