Gray Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In damp forests, In moorlands, and On rotten logs.
It is massive, growing up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is extremely sturdy.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release thousands of spores.
