Zigzag Yellow

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 93 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wonky trunk covered in ridged, brown-green bark, and inside, the light wood is black with white speckles.

The numerous branches are short stubs and are covered with handfuls of sticky, giant, broad, flat leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are solid faded yellow or pink, with bold orange zig-zags.

In late summer it forms small, green aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
