Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 69 feet (21.0 meters) tall. The thin stem is black, and is covered in many flexible orange spines. The irregular-edged, fan-like leaves are generally red. Sparse amounts of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are delicate, but take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are aquamarine on the underside and silver on the top grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of handfuls of tightly layered, narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like wet dog.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the aquamarine flesh is rough, and the white sap is thin.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
