Orange-Yellow Succulent

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 46 feet (14.0 meters) tall. The thin stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in handfuls of flexible orange spines. The spherical body is caramel and red, and is dotted with small dark grey spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 31 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with petals that are aquamarine on the underside and silver on the top grows at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of handfuls of tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like sweat.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the lime flesh is sticky, and the azure sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
