Bronze

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 54 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in fine, knobbly, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale yellow.

The branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of large, very thin leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and indigo.

In early spring, it produces bunches of medium-sized, olive blossoms with shield-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like coffee.

In early summer it produces small, long, curved fruit. The leathery lime skin is thin and sweet, and the very soft yellow flesh is spicy and oily. The lime seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
