Purple Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This large, lime green grass grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The needle-like stalks grow in sparse patches that are delicate.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, purple spikelet.

During the mid-summer, it produces lots of pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of giant grains.

It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
