Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing large areas On rotten logs, In bogs, and In damp forests.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is extremely frail.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release dozens of spores.
