Crimson Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized, pale purple grass grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The very thin stalks grow in thin clumps that are flimsy and they spread and grow quickly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, crimson flower.

During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of small grains.

It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
