Golden Bine

This huge bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,588 feet (788.8 meters) and growing as high as 138 feet (42.1 meters).

It takes 10 years for the orange stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 10 inches (25 cm) and are soft and flexible.

The spear shaped, leathery leaves reach up to 3.0 feet (91 cm) in length. They are found in pink and gold varieties, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces thousands of average faded yellow flowers, and during the early winter, after flowering, it produces lots of tiny fruits.
