Silverfern

This silver moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In rainy mountain ranges, On trees, and In heathlands.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly rigid; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.
