Eternal Pine

This short tree grows up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very dense wood is white with black speckles.

The sparse amount of branches are short, rigid and upright, with thousands of twigs covered with small bunches of tiny, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are fairly frail.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, muted yellow seed pods.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
