Turquoise

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 71 feet (21.6 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is lime green and silver, and is covered in handfuls of rigid beige spines. The ripped-edged, perforated leaves are found in beige, green and turquoise varieties. Large amounts of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are robust, and do not detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with alternating petals of olive and blood red, with a bronze central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 11 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like fish.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the gold flesh is rubbery, and the lime sap is thin.
